The KODAK FLEXCEL NX System is increasingly playing a key role transforming flexographic printing into a process that enables outstanding print quality, consistent and repeatable results and optimal production efficiency for all packaging applications. This has just been confirmed yet again at the presentation of the 2018 FTA Europe Diamond Awards by the Flexographic Technical Association Europe (FTA Europe) on May 30, 2018. The awards presentation ceremony in Milan, Italy, was attended by around 240 influencers from the European flexo community. The FTA Europe jury of experts selected the winners from 171 real-life packaging projects submitted through national European flexo associations which are members of FTA Europe.
A total of nine packaging applications produced with KODAK FLEXCEL NX Plates were honored with these prestigious awards in seven out of the fourteen different categories. On top of that, the title “Best in Show”, which is only conferred on one entry, went to Wipak Ibérica of Llinars del Vallés, near Barcelona, Spain. The packaging manufacturer won the top prize for a print-on-film (PET) application which was entered in the “Flexo Print on Film – Wide Web” category. Press-ready FLEXCEL NX Plates (thickness 1.14 mm) for this winning application were supplied by Chemence Graphics, a Barcelona-based packaging prepress service provider.
“The award winning works at the 2018 FTA Europe Diamond Awards are proof of the high quality standard flexo has meanwhile achieved in all segments of the packaging market. We’re obviously delighted that so many awards went to applications produced with FLEXCEL NX Plates,” said Grant Blewett, Global Sales Director Packaging, Kodak. “With such innovative features as NX Advantage and the patented Advanced Edge Definition, the FLEXCEL NX Technology raises the bar in flexographic printing and unlocks the secrets to persistent peak performance, not only in industry competitions but also in daily production – to the benefit of trade shops, flexo printers, packaging manufacturers and brand owners.”
