Flexo Know How Bios

For the past 30 years, Joseph has developed and provided support to users in a range of graphics and printing solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Pablo graduated from the Centro de Estudios Tecnológicos Industrial y de Servicios in Queretaro, Mexico with a professional technician in graphic arts AS degree and has since spent more than two decades working in the graphics and printing industry. As well as this professional experience, Pablo, based in Mexico, is a FIRST Certified Implementation Specialist, Level III.

Beginning his printing career as a pressman in 1993, Tom has experience with rotary letterpress, rotary screen, gravure, and flexo. Over the past 28 years, he has worked in technical roles, management, and product support. He has also spent some time working as an independent printing consultant.

Covering the Europe, Africa and Middle East region, Tomasz brings his 24-years’ industry experience to his flexo role. Prior to starting his career, he studied at Warsaw Printing School in Poland.

With a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the University of Minnesota, Alex has been with Miraclon for almost a year now, fast becoming an expert in all things FLEXCEL NX Solutions. His customer service is informed by his Green Belt Certification from business trainers Six Sigma.

Nicolas has worked with flexo for more than 15 years, including five years at a wide web convertor where he led the prepress department. Nicolas studied Business Administration at university, holds a diploma in brand identity strategy, and is a FIRST Implementation Specialist.

Catherine is a FIRST Implementation Specialist and Clemson alumna, bringing 13 years of flexographic experience in both print and technical plate support. In her role, she works with FLEXCEL NX Ultra customers around the world to ensure they achieve optimal performance.

Mike is a FIRST Implementation Specialist and sits on the FIRST Leadership team. His long printing and converting career began in 1990, working with a film manufacture and rotogravure printer. The following years have included stints at a flexible packaging printer, anilox roll manufacturer and ink producer. Mike has spoken at several conferences, has judged awards, and authored a number of  industry articles.

Holding a FIRST Operator Certification, Jose has 10-years’ experience working with Kodak printing solutions and has spent the last decade focusing on service support. He began working with printers, plotters and digital copiers at the age of 16, entering the industry in a scholarship program.

Tom is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in Printing Management. His work experience covers 15 years and includes the original FLEXCEL NX System alpha and beta installations. Tom has supported global FLEXCEL NX System print and plate applications over the past ten years. In addition, Tom was previously the Technical Specialist for the Flexographic Technical Association and started the original FTA FIRST Specification Committee and Technical Innovation Award program.

Sue’s experience working with flexo solutions, prepress, printing software, consumables and equipment runs to 16 years. She also holds a PhD in colloid-interface science, an area of chemistry studying the interactions and behaviors of complex materials, such as emulsions, dispersions and foams.

Dan’s long career in the industry spans almost 40 years, bringing plenty of practical knowledge to his print applications role. He holds an AS degree in Printing Technology and is a FIRST Certified Implementation Specialist – Level III.

Based in Chile, Carlos has worked with flexo for more than 28 years, initially as a press operator and then as a prepress manager. He has 11 years’ experience working with Flexcel NX Technology; providing support, optimization and innovation to Miraclon customers in Latin America. Carlos graduated as Technician in Graphic Arts (ENAG-Chile) and later complemented his career with Graphic Design. Carlos is a FIRST Certified Implementation Specialist, Level III.

A FIRST Certified Implementation Specialist – Level III, Fabio has 28 years’ experience working with packaging, converters and printers. As well as a degree in industrial chemistry from Oswaldo Cruz University, Brazil, he holds qualifications in graphic arts, project management and lean manufacturing.

Nicole has spent 24 years working in packaging and flexographic printing, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge on everything flexo to our support and solutions. Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications at Clemson University, with a concentration in flexography. She has been a judge for numerous competitions for TAPPI and SuperCorrExpo.

During Steve’s four-decade long career in printing he has enjoyed having a role in many of the leading print technologies, focused on reprographics. In the last ten years this focus has turned to packaging, working on the FLEXCEL NX System as it has helped transform the quality expectations of flexo for FMCG packaging print. In the Advanced Print Applications team, Steve is focused on gravure to flexo transitions.

A Mechanical Engineer and graduate of University of Wales, Swansea, he has a background in packaging printing and the implementation of new techniques for flexographic, gravure, offset, screen and digital printing. Formerly the technical and education director at the English and American Flexographic Technical Associates, he joined Kodak in 2007, where he held various roles in product marketing, sales, business development and product development. In his current role with Miraclon, he works with leading global print companies and brands as they explore options to optimize packaging supply chains, including the conversion of gravure print production to flexo. He is also a key product architect for the next generations of FLEXCEL NX products.
