First in Mexico to adopt FLEXCEL NX Ultra, with proven gains in productivity and operational efficiency
As the first prepress provider in Mexico to adopt the FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution from Miraclon, FlexoPlatte is reinforcing its position at the forefront of modern flexo platemaking in Latin America.
Building on its established FLEXCEL NX System at its Guadalajara facility, the company expanded its capabilities with the addition of a FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution at its new Mexico City site in 2024. After more than a year in operation, it is delivering measurable gains in productivity, process efficiency and operational control, while enabling a transition toward solvent-free, water-based plate production.
“With the FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution, we’ve been able to further improve efficiency while adding a VOC-free, solvent-free water-based platemaking capability to our operations,” said Ferel Garay, owner of FlexoPlatte.
Delivering measurable productivity improvements
Since implementing the FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution, the company has streamlined its platemaking workflow, improving overall efficiency and turnaround times. “The water-based process simplifies production, with shorter drying and curing cycles enabling faster throughput without compromising consistency,” said Ferel. “The result is press-ready plates in less than an hour.”
He added: “The FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution enables us to reduce platemaking time by up to 58%. The process is more practical for our operators, with shorter oven and curing times that simplify production and reduce stress on the material.”
Enhancing press performance
Ferel reports that the benefits extend beyond platemaking and into customers’ pressrooms. “Our customers are reporting excellent press stability and optimal operating speeds, driven by consistent ink transfer,” he said. “At the same time, minimal plate curling makes handling and storage easy, enabling efficient plate reuse. This helps them lower material waste and optimize overall production costs.”

The FLEXCEL NX Ultra Solution is a water-washable flexo platemaking system that pairs the FLEXCEL NX Ultra Processing System and FLEXCEL NX Ultra Plates with the FLEXCEL NX System to deliver an end-to-end flexo platemaking solution. It takes advantage of all the imaging and print performance capabilities of the core FLEXCEL NX Technology, while the patented Ultra Clean Technology provides consistent, high-performing flexo plates in a high volume, low maintenance environment.
