FlexoPlatte chooses Miraclon to establish new prepress service for the Mexican flexo printing market
KODAK FLEXCEL NX Wide 5080 System will minimize waste and open expansion opportunities
FlexoPlatte, new pre-press provider in Guadalajara, Mexico, has invested in a KODAK FLEXCEL NX Wide 5080 System from Miraclon before it opened its doors for business this month.
The owner, Ferel Garay, is well-known for his in-depth knowledge of the flexo process and industry in Mexico – from the design and plate-making stages right through to technical assistance, process advice, maximizing on-press performance and production optimization. In his most recent position as advisor on the flexo printing process and hands-on implementation of FLEXCEL NX Technology for one of Mexico’s biggest flexible packaging manufacturers, Ferel realized that he wanted to share his knowledge to help other users unlock the capabilities of FLEXCEL NX Technology too.
He explains: “Since the first FLEXCEL NX System was launched in 2008, the opportunities to maximize the return on investment in FLEXCEL NX Plate Technology, including the ability to optimize ink usage, on-press performance and plate stability, is what motivated me in my different roles and still today.” It’s with this sentiment that FlexoPlatte was born. Ferel’s passion for the technology is reflected throughout the facility, which has also been optimized for training of FLEXCEL NX Users throughout Latin America.
Ferel decided to invest in a FLEXCEL NX Wide 5080 System, which will allow him to expand his current service offering of flexible packaging and tag & labels in the future. “The 5080 brings all the on-press consistency, reliability, performance and quality advantages that the FLEXCEL NX Technology is known for, with the added benefit of large format production and even more efficient plate layouts,” adds Ferel. “This investment will not only give FlexoPlatte the solid foundation we need to establish ourselves as a reliable pre-press service and consultancy provider today but also sets us up to continue growing our customer base with additional applications like corrugated in the future.”
